Caring for Carnivorous Plants

Following these simple instructions your Carnivourous plant should live for number of years.

During the spring and summer months the pot should stand in a saucer filled with approximately 5-10mm of rainwater, this should be replenished before it is totally consumed.

Your plant doesn’t require feeding to survive and is best left alone to catch its own food. Fertiliser should never be used as this will possibly burn or even kill the plant. It is best to resist the urge to play with the traps as this can also harm the plant.

As winter approaches growth will slow down and the plant may even enter dormancy. During this period the watering should be reduced to prevent rotting the plant, only enough water is applied to the saucer to keep the potting media just moist.

When the plant starts to show signs of new growth at the approach of summer repotting can be carried out if necessary and the sauce can again be filled with 5-10mm of rain water and maintained at this level.
